Located on the hillside on the shore of Okanagen Lake in Kelowna, B.C Canada, Architectural Firm Olson Kundig recently completed the Martins Lane Winery. The winery specializes in the production of premium Pinot Noir and Riesling and has received praise from Wine Spectator. Design of the Martins Lane Winery was led by Olson Kundig principal, Tom Kundig and features unfinished natural materials such as concrete, wood and also includes the use of Corten steel on the exterior.

According to Olson Kundig, their building performance success considers are “energy use, thermal comfort, materials impact, natural ventilation, daylight management and a host of other performance considerations”. This approach leads to healthy and productive environments where

The winery has also been selected as a recipient of the 2021 AIA Awards – Architecture. Other notable projects utilizing Corten by the firm include; Studhorse and Vermont Cabin.
