It has been a while since visiting NYC but my family and I were able to fit in a quick visit with our son Jacob. While there, one site I specifically wanted to see was Little Island. This artificial “island” located on the lower westside of Manhattan opened recently. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that advance tickets were needed so we couldn’t get onto the island, but from 14th street it really is an amazing site. Built on what remained of Pier 55 – Little Island is a collaboration between Heatherwick Studio and MLNA. The 119,000 sq. ft. project was appointed in 2013 and was completed this spring.

More photos when we return later this summer.
